ALPHA – It's for you!   Over 2 million people in the UK and 8 million worldwide have now attended an Alpha course - an opportunity to explore the meaning of life. It is being run in tens of thousands of churches of all denominations across the world. Alpha provides a relaxed and informal opportunity for participants to explore the Christian faith and then make up their own minds about Christianity. There are eleven thought-provoking weekly sessions, with one day away (on a Saturday). It is low-key, friendly and fun – and is supported by all the main Christian denominations. Over the past year, churches in the Settle Area have arranged a number of events as part of the ‘It's 4U' programme. They will be running an Alpha course in the Autumn, and invite anyone who would like to know more about it to come to an ‘Alpha Supper' to be held at 7.0 p.m. on Tuesday 18 th September at St. John's Church Hall. Christianity: Boring, Untrue and Irrelevant?   John Bavington (Chaplain to Giggleswick School ) will give a short talk entitled ‘Christianity: Boring, Untrue and Irrelevant?' on Tuesday 18 th September. This event is supported by churches throughout the Settle area.       Alpha: An Opportunity to explore the meaning of life   Alpha provides an opportunity for people to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting during ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, with a ‘day away' on one Saturday. When: Tuesdays, 7.0-9.0 p.m. , starting on 25 th Sep.
